Ginkgo flavone glycosides are a balanced group of bioflavonoids primarily responsible for ginkgo’s ability to inhibit platelet aggregation (stickiness) and its antioxidant activity. Terpene lactones (ginkgolides and bilobalide) improve circulation, inhibit platelet activating factor (PAF) and protect nerve cells.
